BASIC HANDGUN

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of safe and responsible handgun ownership and use. Students will learn the basic parts and operation of a handgun, essential safety rules, ammunition basics, proper grip and stance, and the core marksmanship principles needed to build a strong foundation.

Course Objectives:
Students will learn how to:

  • Understand the universal rules of firearm safety
  • Identify the basic parts and function of a handgun
  • Understand how ammunition works
  • Demonstrate safe loading and unloading procedures
  • Build proper grip, stance, sight alignment, and trigger control
  • Develop safe gun-handling habits
  • Gain confidence with basic handgun operation
