Control the Bleed

Control the Bleed teaches students how to recognize and manage life-threatening bleeding using fast, effective interventions. This lesson covers hemorrhage control priorities, tourniquet selection and placement, direct pressure, wound packing, hemostatic agents, and proper bandaging techniques. Students also practice these skills through live demonstrations, drills, and scenario-based exercises so they can respond confidently in home-defense or public-defense emergencies.

Description

Control the Bleed is a hands-on emergency trauma lesson focused on the early recognition and treatment of massive bleeding. Students learn why rapid hemorrhage control is critical, including how severe blood loss can become fatal within minutes and how uncontrolled bleeding can quickly lead to hemorrhagic shock.
